Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files that the sites you visit place in your browser; local storage (localStorage) is data a site keeps in your browser that is not sent to the server automatically. This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies we use on the TEBHOS website (tebhos.com and its pages) and in the TEBHOS app; it supplements the cookie section of the Privacy Policy.

Our principle is simple: advertising and tracking cookies are used nowhere on TEBHOS. We run no analytics scripts, do no cross-site profiling and share cookie data with no one. Operational logs are kept server-side, only for security and debugging, for the periods stated in the Privacy Policy.

The TEBHOS app (web and desktop) uses no cookies for authentication: your session keys are kept in the local storage of your browser or desktop app and sent in an authorization header with each request. Theme, volume, notification preferences and similar settings also stay in local storage on your device; they are not used to identify or track you.

When you sign out of the app, your session key is deleted from local storage. Clearing site data in your browser has the same effect; you will then need to sign in again.

This website runs no analytics or advertising scripts. On its own behalf it stores only these preferences on your device:

• •locale — language preference. Your language choice is carried in the URL path (English pages live under /en). When you switch languages, this functional cookie, kept for at most one year, may be written to remember your choice; it identifies no one and tracks nothing.
• •cs-theme (local storage) — theme preference. Stores your light/dark theme choice; if you have not chosen, the system theme is followed and nothing is written.
• •cookieConsent and cookieConsentDate (local storage) — cookie consent. The decision you made in the cookie notice at the bottom of the site ("accept" or "reject") and its date, kept so the notice is not shown again on every visit.

These records exist only in your browser and are not sent to our servers. There are no analytics cookies; if a non-essential cookie is ever added, this policy is updated and, where required, your consent is obtained beforehand.

On some pages and flows, third-party services that may use their own cookies come into play:

• •hCaptcha — during the bot-protection check at sign-up and sign-in, it may use its own cookies for bot detection. This use is subject to hCaptcha's privacy policy.
• •Cloudflare — as the infrastructure layer protecting the site and the app, it may use technical cookies for security purposes (for example bot and attack protection). See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• •Polar (checkout page) — when you buy a paid service, the checkout page opened from inside the app is served by our merchant of record, Polar. Polar uses its own cookies on the checkout page for session and fraud-prevention purposes; these cookies operate only on Polar's checkout page and are not placed on TEBHOS's own pages. Details are in Polar's privacy policy.

The cookies of these services are subject to their own policies; we do not read these cookies and cannot access their contents.

• •Browser settings. You can view, delete or block cookies and site data in your browser's settings. Preferences in local storage are also removed by "clear site data".
• •Rejecting from the site bar. When you choose Reject in the cookie notice on the site, that decision is recorded; because the site's own records consist only of your preferences, functionality does not change.
• •Third-party cookies. The third-party cookies we use are tied to security and payment functions; blocking them may stop the sign-up/sign-in flow or the checkout page from working.

Blocking cookies does not affect your use of the TEBHOS app; because the app uses no cookies for your session, only local storage needs to be enabled.

We may update this policy as the technologies we use, the law or our service changes. Important changes, such as adding a new category of cookie, are announced on this page and in the Changelog before they take effect; where consent is required, no cookie is written until your consent is obtained.
