File and message limits
10 MB / 200 MB per attachment, 2,000 / 4,000 characters per message, and per-server expression limits.
Sharing on TEBHOS has practical limits. Every number on this page is a limit genuinely enforced in the app today — not a marketing round-up.
File and attachment limits
| Limit | Free | TEBHOS Pro |
|---|---|---|
| File upload size (per attachment) | 10 MB | 200 MB |
| Message length | 2,000 characters | 4,000 characters |
10 MB covers most everyday sharing (images, short videos, documents); for high-resolution videos and large archives, TEBHOS Pro raises the limit to 200 MB.
Per-server expression limits
These are server limits, not user limits, and they cap the emoji/stickers uploaded to a server:
| Limit | Standard | Uploaded by a Pro member |
|---|---|---|
| Custom emoji | 50 | 100 |
| Stickers | 5 | 30 |
| Animated (GIF) emoji | — | With Pro |
If you hit a limit
- "File too large" error: consider compressing the file (lowering resolution for video, splitting an archive) or upgrading to Pro.
- Long message: split the message, or attach the long text as a file.
What happens to deleted attachments?
When you delete a message, its attachments are deleted too. Media attachments are not included in our database backups: once removed from active storage they are gone permanently and cannot be recovered. Download files you want to keep before deleting. Details are in the retention section of the Privacy Policy.
Attachments you never delete also have a size-based retention period (up to 3 years for files up to 5 MB, shorter as they get bigger) — details on the Attachment expiry page.
